Open File

You can open this file and alter the text, icons, or any other part of the design that you would like.

Estimated time: 5 minutes

2

Stain wood (optional)

You can stain the surface of the wood to give it a darker look. Make sure the stain is completely dry before carving.

Estimated time: 5 minutes

3

Carve

I used a v-bit to engrave the front of my project so I could get every detail faster than I could with a flat bit.

I used the 2 flute straight bit (black ring) to cut everything out.

Estimated time: 20 minutes

Seal and Paint

After I finished the engraving, I coated it in Sanding Sealant. This will make sure that paint will not bleed into the wood when I paint it.

After the sealer has dried, I use black paint (acrylic), and sloppily painted in all the engraved areas. Once the paint is dry, you can sand off the excess paint with a palm sander or sanding block.

If you try to use this technique without the sanding sealer, the paint will bleed into the wood and be visible even after sanding.

Estimated time: 10 minutes

Assemble

Use wood glue and clamps to secure the front of the caddy to the back pieces.

Let dry overnight.

Now you are ready to fill up the caddy and make a drink!
